Tripod's story
Tripod was born on the streets of Qatar. The harsh desert environment is no place for a kitten. She had to seek shelter anywhere she could from the sun. Tripod's mom lived near an ambulance hub. And two of the people that worked out of that hub just happened to be American's with a huge heart for animals. They first noticed Tripod as a kitten with half of her rear leg missing. What could have happened to this poor kitten, they wondered. They asked around and eventually they got an answer. The kitten had been run over by one of the ambulances... breaking her rear foot in half!!!! And she was walking around on the broken mangled leg!!! Well, It takes awhile to earn trust...but that is exactly what they did. They earned her trust. Over time, she came nearer and nearer. Finally they were able to pet Tripod and eventually they picked her up and set her in the car. They took her to the vet, and her leg was amputated properly. She was given a good prognosis and taken home to recover. She plays like you would never imagine a street cat can play!!!!!!!!!!! She is affectionate and silly. And she is smart and inquisitive. The only trouble is, These wonderful people had already adopted/rescued another street cat the previous year. And the first cat is very much happy to live as the ONLY CAT. The people do not want to compromise the happiness of the first cat... but they could not see allowing Tripod to languish in the streets of Qatar... fighting the desert heat with a mangled leg. They have rehabilitated Tripod to the picture of health! They will be visiting the US in the spring and I have agreed to help them seek a home for Tripod in the states! The adoption fee will be a portion of the expenses in Tripod's travel to the US. We are still not certain of all the particulars... and we arent sure of the cost yet. We are just dipping our toe into the water, here... and hoping we can make magic happen for this sweet little cat... born in the streets, in a desert across he globe. If we are successful in re-homing Tripod, it will open up the door for us to help another Qatar street cat. These guys have almost no one advocating for them. There is only one rescue that we know of that works to help animals there. It is dire for most street cats... a hot and difficult existence... and a death sentence if they become ill or injured. Tripod is fully vetted and very healthy. She has also been spayed and is becoming quite the couch potato!!! If her story intrigues you, and you may want to now more about her... please reach out to us. Even if you are not interested in adopting, perhaps you would like to contribute, somehow, to her travel to the US for a forever home. It will take a small support system to make it happen but we know that it can be done! The last photo is of Tripod when she was still on the streets. I have a few other pictures but i can only upload four...
